A Design Approach

Steeped in the design adage “form follows function”, Shana’s approach is to make the space function well first, make it beautiful second, and along the way, incorporate an unexpected design element – giving spaces a surprising detail that “flirts” with the senses and makes you smile. Finished spaces are well-thought-out and one-of-a kind.

Creativity. Competence. Customer Service.

Shana meets a project’s challenges with her utmost ingenuity, attention and professionalism, and provides personalized service at every turn.

This tasty and timeless kitchen style was created by combining milky granite countertops and backsplash with wine colored glass and chocolate marble mosaic accents, poured over coffee glazed cabinetry.  Finally, topped with mercury-glass bell pendant lighting, this kitchen is sophistication served fresh, to satisfy the chef’s complex tastes for years to come.

A turquoise crackle-finish vessel sink inspired this powder bathroom remodel.  The same color and finish was repeated on the raised, now coffered, ceiling to give balanced attention-grabbers amid the chocolate vanity and cream tone-on-tone tile work and wallpaper.

A reclaimed, rustic-wood accent wall has dual purpose in this master bedroom -- it completely covers an unwanted window, and adds a chic focal point to the space. This is the "Form Flirt Function" design approach in action.

A family of five now has a better layout to maneuver in, as well as, many cooking, prep and seating areas in this kitchen remodel.  Clean quartz countertops, simple lines, and neutral-toned cabinetry are popped by gold, plum and teal crackle-glass tiles placed randomly throughout the backsplash.

The owners were inspired by their stays at The Little Nell Hotel in Aspen, CO – the neutral color palette, the juxtaposition of highly textured stone surfaces with slick polished mirror and chrome, and rustic yet luxe detailing. The result was pure class.

This guest bath remodel was a total transformation.  The new bamboo cabinetry, travertine countertops, stone and glass backsplash, modern sinks, and sleek faucets made this once childish space into a sophisticated and calming space.

The master bedroom retreat in a couple's log-cabin second home in the secluded mountains of Colorado needed to be casual and comfortable yet refined.  A key architectural feature of this home is an octagonal-shaped turret, so that same octagonal shape was repeated in some of the furnishing details (see coffee table and wall mirror).

You can never go wrong with the classics -- a clean and fresh white/gray palette and a pop of color.  White-painted shaker cabinetry combined with carrera marble tile accents will forever be in style.

We are loving every minute in our new space (kitchen). Thanks to you, it is gorgeous, and so functional for our family, food and fun! You were a professional throughout the process, even when it got difficult. I can’t thank you enough! —Elizabeth
Shana has been a sheer delight to work with. Throughout the process, I found Shana to be thoughtful and respectful of my ideas and concerns, listening carefully before offering suggestions. I enjoyed her enthusiasm and sense of humor. She is an excellent communicator and is dependable in her follow-through. She exhibited extraordinary creativity and a strong knowledge of products, fabrics and services. Most importantly, when I walk into one of the completed rooms I just smile. I look forward to working with Shana for many years to come. —Dorothy
My daughter’s bedroom is looking great.  Thank you for translating a collage of magazine cutouts into something wonderful. —Anne
